EPIC Joins Coalition Urging FCC Not to Permit Unfettered Ringless Voicemails

EPIC has joined a coalition of customer groups led by the Nationwide Consumer Law Center in order to urge the FCC in order to reject a proposal that will make it legal for callers to drop voicemails directly into householder’s phones without their permission. The groups explained that will allowing such “ ringless voicemail” would clog consumers’ voicemail boxes with junk mail, scams, and debt collection updates. A lot more than 90, 000 consumers signed a petition recommending the FCC to deny the proposal, and thousands of others, including smaller businesses and medical professionals, have submitted comments with the FCC enrolling their concern with the causes harm to presented by ringless voicemail message.
