King County, WA Bans Local Government Use of Facial Recognition

A good ordinance passed in King Region, Washington bans “any individual or entity acting on part of a King County management office or executive department” fromusing facial recognition technologies or information derived from this. The ban includes the particular King County Sheriffs Section. Seattle’s King County may be the first county in the country to ban government utilization of facial recognition technology.
